A Baton Rouge car accident involving three vehicles began with a fight and shooting at a local car wash. The incident began at approximately 3:30 on Saturday afternoon, April 9, 2011, in the 4300 block of Gus Young Avenue.
According to Baton Rouge police, two men got into an argument at a local car wash when one of the men, Anthony Sheppard, 41, of Baton Rouge was shot by an unidentified man in the upper torso. After crashing his vehicle, Mr. Sheppard kept driving down Gus Young Avenue and hit two other vehicles at 46th Street.
Rescue crews transported Mr. Sheppard to Baton Rouge General Mid-City where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His injuries have been described as life-threatening.
One of the other vehicles that Mr. Sheppard hit was carrying four people, including two children. They were also taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately made available. No one from the third vehicle was injured.
The Baton Rouge car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The man who allegedly shot Mr. Sheppard fled the scene. It is unclear as to whether or not police have located him.
